Consul General of Israel to South India

Ms. Dana Kursh is the Consul General of Israel in Bengaluru with consular jurisdiction over the states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and the union territory of Puducherry.
Prior to assuming the role of Consul General of Israel to the South of India, she was serving as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Israel in India from June 2015 – July 2017.
Ms. Kursh has vast experience as a diplomat in the Israeli Foreign Ministry. Amongst her managerial positions in Ministry of Foreign Affairs were: Policy Advisor to the Director General, Director of the department for recruiting and training of the next generation of diplomats for the Israeli Foreign Ministry. Her first assignment abroad was as a Deputy Consul General of Israel to the Southwest of the USA, based in Houston Texas.
Ms. Kursh chose also to take part in Israel’s flourishing NGO’s eco-system. She took leave of absence from the Foreign Ministry to become the General Manager of JVP Community, a non-profit organization aiming at transforming Jerusalem via education & culture.
For the first years of her professional life she had the privilege of working in Israel’s cutting edge hi-tech industry.
She holds a BA in International Relations from Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a MA in Public Policy (the Executive program of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem). She has pursued Diplomatic Cadet Course – Training to be a career diplomat by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During her military career she achieved the rank of a Captain and was the Liaison Officer for bereaved families of the Northern Command of the Israeli Defense forces (IDF).
Ms. Kursh was born and raised to a farmer family in a village called Moshav Merhavia, located in the north of Israel, in the Lower Galilee.
