Consul General for Canada

Since August 2016 Consul General Jennifer Daubeny has been responsible for promoting relations between Canada and southern India, including the States of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana, and the Union Territory of Puducherry.

Born in British Columbia, Canada, Ms. Daubeny holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations (1984) from the University of British Columbia, and a Master of Public Administration (1990) from the University of Victoria.

Ms. Daubeny joined the Canadian diplomatic service in 1988 and has held various posts through her career, primarily in trade. Notably, in 1995, she opened and headed Canada’s first consulate in Guadalajara, Mexico.  More recently she served as Senior Trade Commissioner at Canada’s High Commission in London, from 2009 to 2013. Immediately prior to her posting in India, Ms. Daubeny served as the Director of the Investor Services Division and the Science, Technology and Innovation Division at Global Affairs Canada.
