The Tenth edition of the India Innovation summit was held on 8th and 9th August 2014in Hotel ITC Royal Gardenia in Bangalore. Having 54 eminent speakers, participation from more than 25 media houses, 15 Govt. Depts., 35 trade officials, 70+ students and 360 delegates participating in the summit, the summit was well attended. This year we had 10 exhibition stalls, showcasing Innovating Products and Solutions by different companies. “Innovation for inclusive growth ” was the theme of 10th India Innovation Summit, which highlighted latest trends in the innovation ecosystems for broader participation in the economic growth across the globe.
The 10th Innovation Summit explored the dimensions of inclusive growth from a practitioner viewpoint and builds the context for eminent panelists to discuss the current state of art and the role of innovation in driving economic growth with wider participation and its impact on job creation.

Inaugurating the 10th India Innovation Summit of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Bangalore, Chief Minister Shir. Siddaramiah, announced plans with enhanced measures for promoting inclusive growth through innovation including long term policies for industrial and infrastructure development starting this year. He stated that his government would soon launch a new industrial policy covering five year period starting this year.
Mr.MichealIdlechik, Vice President, Advanced Technology for GE Global Research, in his Keynote address, focussed on the needs of innovation which would help in the actual advancements of Industrial Internet. Innovation in this generation would further give rise to number of innovators and entrepreneurs. Advanced tools would further give rise to higher performance, computing and technology bringing through innovation.
Dr.Bhaskar Ghosh, Senior Managing Director, Technology Delivery, Accenture, said – “Innovation is a new method which will help in harnessing sectors like Education, Health and above all, agriculture. Giving a much awaited concern to the field of agriculture, few districts in North Karnataka have witnessed a major transformation via increased crop production which has benefitted the agents and farmers in collating the useful data and information. Now our country has witnessed a rising wave by providing knowledge for innovation and comprehensive growth.
Dr S Y Quraishi, Former Chief Election Commissioner of India, during his keynote highlighted how the election commission had successfully conducted the biggest human management event in the world involving over 837 million voters, which was 180 million compared to previous general elections.
CII -3M Student Challenge for Innovation
CII-3M Student Challenge for Innovation in the areas of inclusive growth was announced during the Summit. Ms. Neena Gilda, IIT Bombay won the first prize for her Ultra – Sensitive, low cost Hand Held Explosive Detector System, while Students of Anand Pharmacy Gujarat, were adjudged the first runner up for their Novel Cross Linked Anti-Bacterial Hydrogel of Silver Sulfadiazine. The second runner up position went to students of Amrita School of Engineering Coimbatore, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University for their Cost Effective Vegetable Chillers for Rural Small Farmers.
Based on the feedback and press coverages, the Tenth edition of the India Innovation Summit was a grand success.
